Laptop Data Recovery Since 1997
Advanced Data Recovery specializes in recovering data from crashed, clicking and failed laptop hard drives...
Laptops are subject to a lot of handling, shaking, dropping, and other rough maneuvers that can result in damage or corruption to the hard drive. Laptop hard drives are smaller than a regular desktop drive and usually have a lower capacity of storage as well as slower operating speeds.
A laptop hard drive usually has a shorter life span than a desktop hard drive because of their portability. A laptop often endures rough handling on a daily basis. Dust getting into the small cooling fan, which then prevents adequate cooling. All of this can result in an expected failure and loss of data.
When the unexpected happens and you lose access to your files you can rest assured that Advanced Data Recovery engineers can usually recover your data. We lead the industry in innovation and experience. Because of this, recent breakthrough's in technology have enabled us to reduce overhead costs and greatly reduce prices on data recovery from laptop hard drives...
Comprehensive recoveries now only $399!
(approximately 60 to 70% of laptop drives can be recovered under our Comprehensive service)
See our Exhaustive laptop data recovery prices for drive requiring invasive cleanroom procedures.
(approximately only 30 to 40% of laptop hard drives require this level of service)
Did you know the average lifespan of a laptop is 3 years? Because the lifespan of laptops are so short, it is absolutely vital to backup your data on a regular basis. You should also double check that your data was backed up correctly. Too many times we see clients lose data because their backups were not working properly.
If you are suffering from data loss, or your laptop isn't running right and you can't access your data, here are a few steps to follow to ensure the highest chance of a successful recovery. You'll also want to take these steps if your laptop is acting strange, running slow or unexpectedly shutting down so you don't lose your data.
Take these steps if your laptop hard drive has crashed, won't boot or your files are not accessible...
- Turn off your computer immediately-continued operation can cause greater damage
- Do not restart the computer: when a hard drive is in a distressed state, any extra actions can cause more damage
- Do not format your drive if it says it needs to be formatted or says it is corrupt and unreadable
- Do not install or re-install any software or hardware
- Do not shake, disassemble, or attempt to clean a damaged drive
- Do not use a file recovery or other data recovery software to repair damaged drive
- Do not try to clean or dry a wet or muddy drive
- Do not try to operate a visibly damaged device. Get professional help!
Proven Hard Drive and RAID Data Recovery Methods Get Maximum Results
From single hard drive PCs, and laptop hard drives to complex, multi-hard drive RAID arrays, our hard drive and RAID data recovery engineers use the same type of equipment hard drive manufacturers use which means you can rest assured that if your data is recoverable, we can do it.
We begin by identifying and replacing faulty internal parts like heads, re-writing firmware, performing platter swaps, re calibrating and realigning the file structures and restore as much of your data as possible.
Hard drives that are clicking, or making unusual sounds, go directly to the clean room bench where the PCB controller, heads and platter surfaces are checked and tested for scratches, scoring, correct calibration, ohm readings and failed chips.
Rom chips and firmware are checked. The spindle motor is tested for proper rotation, speed, alignment and frozen or damaged bearings. Servo mechanisms that identify the parameters and structure of the hard drive are tested to determine whether they have been damaged or overwritten. Faulty parts are replaced and correct firmware is loaded. Once your hard drive is brought to a state of readiness a sector-by-sector image is created. After the imaging process is complete your data is recovered, your critical files are checked for integrity and your data is saved to a new external hard drive.
Your recovery is now complete and your data recovery advisor will provide you with a list of recoverable files for your review and then make payment arrangements so we can get your recovered files back to you. See the recovery methods ADR uses to recover hard drives.
